How to create a better office environment with furniture, supplies, and products

Spam, phishing, viruses; e-mail can seem like an alien invasion at times. A recent article in eWeek noted that possibly, "One in every 617 spam messages now contains malicious code."

Avoid massive problems by making sure your e-mail practices at the office are safe; or at least, as safe as possible. 

• Deal with e-mail when you have time. This allows you the common sense to be careful. If you're hurried, you might open stuff you shouldn't.
• Never open e-mail attachments from someone you don't know. (Believe me, you really didn't win an ipod.)
• If an attachment arrives from someone you know but you have a weird feeling - like they sent it at 3am and that's unusual, give them a call, or send them an e-mail. This step only takes a second, and could save you some trouble. 
• Let employees use office or company e-mail to receive personal messages. Your e-mail system at work may be virus-fighting ready, but who knows if your employees email system is. 
• Configure your e-mail so that nothing opens instantly.
