Get organized and get out from under paper clutter. Use the following tips...
Don't buy stickies, scratch pads, or other small paper items - they add up. Instead buy one (yes one) small note book, a small spiral bound is good. Take notes in that as you complete tasks on a sheet, or don't need it anymore, recycle it.
Better even than a scratch pad, is a decent pda, or other personal electronic organizer. With one of these babies, you can jot down notes and then later save them to your desktop or laptop. No paper, no mess.
Set all loose paper in a, “To be sorted later” box. This won’t get rid of paper clutter, but it will move it out of your way so you can get to work.
Take care of items right away. One of the main reasons you see so much paper clutter around an office is simultaneous projects. It may seem like a productive way to be, but if you can't get organized or find what you need, simultaneous projects will only hurt your productivity.
Try going paperless - read my former post on paperless office technology.
If you need a lot of help, than the Paper Tiger software system will likely be able to pull you through - its aim is to help you tame the paper insanity.

I am a nut for spiral note books. Not sure why, but I started using one years ago and now it has become my vice. I do integrate with my planner, but I like to write stuff down and then write out my thoughts as I have them.
Once I am done with a note book, I date the front and file. If within six months I haven't gone back in and reviewed anything in it, then it gets recycled.
