In the previous post about three reasons to start a business blog, I noted, that I’d be back. This time I actually reminded myself to :) Here are three more reasons to start a blog for your workplace.
Monetary Savings
Besides word-of-mouth, a blog can be one of the least expensive marketing tools available. Any business can get a free to very low cost, professional looking blog. For small businesses or start-ups without much cash to spare, this is a huge perk. You don't have to hire a designer, as many companies do for websites. You don't have to pay for ads or commercials. Bonus, for such a low-cost promotional tool, a blog has the ability to reach across the world and back. Name another tool you can do this with.
Appear Human
A blog allows your business to show it's human side. You can have a little fun, be more informal, make a few funny statements. This human aspect goes a long way toward making your company seem approachable to customers. This builds loyalty. Customers like to get on board with real people.
More Website Hits
A blog can help an already existing company website to gain more hits. More hits translates into more customer visits to your site. Each time you post at your blog, it gets your company name out there. Other blogs link to you. People add you to their feeds, and share with friends. Search engines pick up your blog posts, and your company name moves up the list with search engines like Yahoo, Dogpile, and Google. A static website cannot do this for your company.
