Now so far Onoffice Magazine looks amazing. I don't have a copy yet but I just found the website so... What's odd is that it's been out for a while (maybe six copies or so) and I have never heard of it. Very strange. Still, now I know and you should take a look too.
"All things office come under the onoffice microscope, from cutting-edge interior projects through technology and products to real human issues. Onoffice takes designers, architects, facilities managers, specifiers and end users on a journey through the cosmos of commercial space, delivering piercing insight, fearless criticism and the gamut of essential knowledge that makes perfect sense of the world of work. Stylish, sexy, authoritative, original and with more than a modicum of much needed wit."
Holy this sound good right. And needed. I get many office-based magazines but nothing very on edge; unless you count WIRED which honestly is more tech and less office. This read sounds much more interesting than anything else I've seen in a long while that relates to the office environment.
This magazine is UK based and you can get a sample of the offerings at their website and register to get your very own free copy. You can look at excerpts from the current issue online right now. Some of the issues covered include:
- How clean is your mouse? -- think more whole office than mouse alone though.
- Ryan Frank who takes derelict office products, saved from landfills and turns them into stylish furniture.
- Design and the sensory experience.
- Inside the new New York Times building.
- And more.
This looks like a really fresh and useful read -- outside the office norm but still something that will work for most office folk.
