How to create a better office environment with furniture, supplies, and products

A slew of green office news came out today. I’m not sure why but since I can’t post all the news here’s one of the better green office headlines; Energy Star Computers.

While new requirements for computers to meet Energy Star approval were announced in July the newest news is that items are massively hitting the electronics market right now.

If your office is aching to go green, save money, or both these new greener computer products are advantageous. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA):

“If every U.S. household and business replaced old computers with new Energy Star qualified models, we would save more than $1.8 billion in energy costs over the next five years and avoid greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to more than 2.7 million cars.”

If you could care less about your workplace saving the earth than you might at least want to consider the absolute money saving perks of green computing. A business that replaces 100 old school energy sucking computers with the new Energy Star computers will save around $175 a year in energy costs and a whopping $670 plus per each computer’s lifespan.

• Only the most energy efficient can earn the new Energy Star label which makes choosing easy for busy businesses — no question — if you get a sticker you get an energy efficient machine.
