PR Newswire Suspends Fees for Southern California Wildfire News

An hour ago it was released that PR Newswire is suspending fees associated with the distribution of press releases on issues regarding the Southern California wildfires." Additionally this service is extended to both members and non-members. All press releases and media advisories related to the wildfires can be distributed via PR Newswire's US1 Newsline. This is good news because as it is the latest numbers are showing that 500,000 plus have been affected by these fires.

I used to lived in California so I've actually been reluctant to even blog this (it's hitting a bit too close to home). However, this is very cool news because hopefully better support and obviously more in-depth information can be be provided by journalists using PR Newswire.

If you have information that is vital to be passed along than releases should be emailed to wildfires@prnewswire.com along with a contact name and phone number for verification. If you're working with experts PR Newswire reports:

"In addition, organizations that are, or represent, experts on wildfires
may include their details in a ProfNet expert roundup that PR Newswire will
distribute to reporters covering this story. To submit an expert, e-mail
leads@profnet.com with "California Wildfires" in the subject line. Include
the expert's name, title and organization name, as well as contact
information for reporters. A brief quote from the expert may also be
included."

To view current information releases visit PR Newswire

Office Stuffer (and I) would like to say that we hope for the best for all the families and individuals dealing with the fires -- there's not much you can say in a situation like this but it's heart breaking and hopefully extra coverage will help some people so I'd utilize this service being offered if you have information that can help.
