This is big news; actually it would be bigger news if I could attend. Sadly I’m moving right now and work is crazy busy plus if I went I’d have to take my son Cedar who absolutely would not enjoy non-six year old blogging topics.
But I REALLY want to go. In case you haven’t heard anyone who is anyone in the wide world of blogging will be at the Blogworld Expo (ok, but me). Blogworld is a huge heaping plate of information, booths, and events created to promote the blogging and new media industries.
The entire event takes place in
I blog for different places and most of the companies are going to be there. In fact Know More Media is signed on as a media partner, sponsor, and an exhibitor – which is huge! Especially since Know More Media has something different to bring to the blogging mix; business 24/7.
Business blogs are good for businesses themselves as well as consumers and the environment (yup environment – think of the amount of paper saved because people get their necessary info from a blog instead of a flyer or newsletter).
But I don’t blog?
Now, you may be thinking, “Hey, I read blogs but I’m no blog writer so this stupendous event is not for me.” But that’s where you’re wrong. If you own a business, are the manager of a business, or hold down a job (or would like to) than blogging is entirely where it’s at.
Look at some of the facts from the Blogworld Expo website:
- “More than 147 million Americans use the Internet.
- Over 57 million Americns read blogs.
- 89% of companies surveyed say they think blogs will be more important in the next five years.
- 22 of the 100 most popular websites in the world are blogs .
- 51% of blog readers shop online .
- Blog readers average 23 hours online each week”
You know what this means? If you’re a business minus a blog you are missing a significant amount of publicity and customers.
In addition to these stats more and more companies are using blogs as recruitment tools – so job seekers better know what’s up with blogs. Job seekers are also using blogs to promote their abilities.
Blogging is awesome business sense for both employers and employees. Visiting the expo and the Know More Media exhibit will be a perk for any business or job seeker.
There’s far too much cool stuff and neat events at the Blogworld Expo to cover here. Plus it’s actually making me a little depressed to write about since I can’t be there this year. So check out the official website or read this post from Know More Media for more information:

Good luck on the move, Jennifer! It's not easy, that's for sure - we just moved a few weeks ago. I do plan to attend the conference and that's sad that you don't anticipate being able to make it. If only someone around there could watch your son for a couple of mornings / afternoons ...
