Wow. I just read the craziest deal. It’s from July so I don’t know how I missed this gem but it turns out that people assume firing someone with an IM and an emoticon is perfectly sane. Look out office worker friends, that friendly email may not be so friendly after all. According to a (I’m fairly certain) unscientific report on MSNBC 14% of men think that firing someone with an emoticon laden IM is good. 11% of women said the same. I’m a little stunned by this news because over 40,000 folks did the survey so that's a lot of not very smart or nice people out there to deal with. Seriously, can you imagine: Here are some ideas: - Yo, dude; you are soooo fired
 - Sorry man, but here’s your pink slip
 - I regret
to inform you that your services are no longer required at such and such company - See ya, wouldn’t want to be ya
On an off topic article note; fewer individuals than the percentages above said they would break up with someone in this way which shows just how not valued professionalism is. What do you think? I’d NEVER do this. Would you?
