So what. Honestly, how much of a difference will it make. It's still not a living wage.
There's been a hearty amount of whining going on by business owners about the wage increase. Not quite as much in my state as in some because I live in Washington. We already have the highest minimum wage in the country.
But, business owners whine about that too. If you're an office worker in the country right now and you're currently making closer to minimum wage than a living wage; I'd be very worried.
I have a feeling, and so do some others, that businesses are going to be cutting out their bottom wage earners or making other unsavory adjustments.
What can you do?
Not so much it seems. I'm not a financial advisor. I'm a stellar budget creator but the situation seems as hopeless to me as it does to others
I feel very lucky that I do make over minimum wage -- yet I still need to watch my budget closely. Being self employed, I buy office supplies for myself. That means I'm very careful about what I buy and when I buy it.
MSN Money has some good tips about when to buy most anything.
Computers: July & August; MSN reports that following the release of chip makers Advanced Micro Devices and Intel will give you a clue about when computer companies will offer updates and new products.
Cell Phones: Anytime; that's good and bad news I'd say. It's anytime because new cells are released like hotcakes. So it's more luck than other things cell phones companies don't follow any sort of release schedule.
(More on this later actually, because my cell broke last night)!
Office Furniture: January & July; MSN say new furniture hits the market after the holidays and with the return to school -- so buying before that is wise because of clearance sales.
I'll be back later with some more tips on how to find less expensive office supplies; in case your wages are lacking leeway as well.
What about you; got any feeling about the minimum wage or a more jolly topic like what time of year to find less costly office supplies?

That's an interesting stance. What was the minimum wage in Washington before the Act became law, can I ask? If it was close to the new rate then you may be right, there may be no difference there.
