Au Revoir from Barbra

Sadly, this is my last post for OfficeStuffer.  I've really enjoyed working for Know More Media, but it's time to move on to other projects.  I'd like to thank my Know More Media author colleagues, especially Ellen Weber of BrainBasedBusiness and Colbert Low of too many blogs to list for all their help and encouragement.  And of course, Dan, Hal and Easton of Know More Media have been great as well.  Best of luck and thanks everybody!

$450 Laptop: Fact or Fiction?
I got a good chuckle out of Aaron Goldberg's account of his quest to purchase $450 laptops for each of his three children. After having no luck with online dealers, he decided to brave the hometown computer store during a back-to-school... Continue Reading

Prune Your To-Do List
Ask just about anybody these days "how's life?" and the response is likely to be "too busy!"  If that sounds like you, Personal  Coach Judy Toth recommends that you take more breaks.  Counterintuitive? Perhaps, but as Judy writes in her monthly... Continue Reading

Deep Discounts on Magazine Subscriptions
Yesterday I wrote about how waiting room reading material can affect customer's perception of your company.  I pointed out that you want reading material that is current (no ten year old National Geographics,  please) and geared towards your customers' interests.  Today I add... Continue Reading

What Does Your Waiting Room Reading Material Say About Your Company?

Free Crap-Ware on New Computers: No Thanks
When I purchased a new Dell computer a few weeks ago, a large McAfee VirusScan pop-up screen was the first thing I saw upon bootup.  This ad demanded I activate a free trial. It also concealed most of the other desktop icons.  The worst part is... Continue Reading
