You're installing or modifying an email account, and you run across this acronym: POP3 (or sometimes just POP). What does it mean?
POP stands for "Post Office Protocol", which is the system that connects the email account on your own computer with the one at your Internet Service Provider's (the place you get your internet service from) site.
POP3 mail is what is normally using for incoming mail, while SMTP is used for outgoing. So when you are setting up your email account in Outlook, Outlook Express or whatever email program you use, your settings would look like this:
Incoming mail server (POP3): mail.yourdomainname.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.yourisp.com
