In Should I buy a Mac computer? Part 1 I talked about my dilemma regarding whether to stick with a PC or switch to a Mac computer. From my research, it seems that there is not much difference between them in terms of performace and stability.
Other things I'm learning about Macs vs PC:
1) the Mac screen is more accurate in terms of color. This must be one of the reasons that graphic designers, especially those who do print materials, prefer Macs.
2) apparently PCs need to use more memory and CPU resources fighting off spyware and viruses than Macs do (not sure how big of an issue this is - I will investigate and report back)
3) the differences in features between Macs and PCs are also becoming less significant. According to one Mac-lover, "OS X is taking on more features similar to XP that I find utterly annoying, while XP is taking on more features of OS X."
4) you have less of a chance of buying a low-quality machine if you go with Mac. This is because all Macs are made by Apple (with their high standards), whereas there is wide variation in the quality of PCs made by various manufacturers.
